In Efluenow, Raquel Rodrigo turns to the ocean's deepest creatures for answers. The installation takes the form of a spiral — corals and sea algae embroidered in fluorescent thread on metallic mesh, alive in darkness. Under black light, the piece glows with the same bioluminescence that allows deep-sea organisms to generate their own light and survive without the sun.
Created for the cloister of the Centre del Carme, declared in climate emergency, Efluenow is a call to look beyond — to the radical intelligence of nature, to alternative energies, to the possibility of a future that creates its own light.
